State Council '80 - The Big Picture State Council is held in interim years between conventions and is charged with the task of giving guidance to the state board on matters concerning program, methods of work, and budget. As implied in the theme, The Big Picture, Council '80 will focus on several areas of League activities and develop a direction for a sharper image. Council '80 will be on Friday and Saturday, May 30 and 31, at the Waikiki Bank of Hawaii Building, 15th floor meeting room. All members are strongly encouraged to attend to take aim and focus on the next League year. The agenda will be: FRIDAY May 30: 8:30 Registration 9:00 - 9:30 Call to order 9:30 - 10:30 Program Session I: Picture-perfect on Voters Service What's Different this Election? How to Develop a Committee - how-to of committee work 10:45 - 12:30 Program Session II: Take Aim on Vote Counting - training session for vote count coordinators 12:30 - 1:45 Lunch break (Dutch treat) 1:45 - 3:45 Program Session III: Focus on Juvenile Justice: Exposing the Facts and Developing the Action Report on observing in Family Court and probation officer interviews Discuss our concerns in the juvenile justice system Work out plan of where we want to go, what we want to do SATURDAY, May 31: 9:00 Business Session: National Convention report Budget presentation and adoption 10:00 - 12:00 Program Session IV: Put Yourself in the Picture What interests you? What will interest the public? What does the League need? How do we coordinate these activities when we do calendar planning? 12:30 Adjournment REGISTRATION FOR STATE COUNCIL '80: Name Address Costs: $15 local League delegates; $3 non-delegates.
