Ulupono
A Conference on Violence Against Women

October 3-4, 2001 the Na Wahine Team 2001, and The Hawaii State Commission on the Status of Women will sponsor a conference that will focus on the many ways that women and girls in Hawaii and the Pacific Basin experience violence in their daily lives. The conference will promote the possibility of ulupono (to grow well, to thrive) for women and children who have experienced violence in what are meant to be intimate and safe places. Anyone interested in understanding and addressing these complex needs is welcome. The conference will be held at the Renaissance Ilikai Hotel. Registration fee is $180. Call 5865757 to register.
