Board of Education ElectionThe League's Education Committee and the AAUW cosponsored a Forum for Board of Education candidates at the AAUW Residence on September 16. A sizeable group of candidates attended and responded to questions devised by the League Education Committee. Candidates told us that the audience was the largest group they had seen at any forum. Many people expressed the thought that they were leaving with a much better sense of what each candidate stands for. The AAUW's hospitality extended to the provision of a lovely table of refreshments following the forum and people remained to chat. As a reminder regarding Board of Education elections:: Oahu residents do not vote for neighbor island BOE candidates. They do, however, vote for one candidate from each of the Windward, Central, and Leeward districts. They also vote for three candidates running At Large.
