From Grumble to Rumble: The Silver Legislature

The Oahu Silver Legislature for adults age 50+ will be held on November 17 and 18 at the State Capitol. This two-day mock legislature is designed to offer a lively, stimulating "learn by doing" educational experience. Participants will act as legislators, lobbyists, and observers to decide on real issues likely to arise in the state legislative chambers in the next session.

Registration ($5.00 fee) for this event is open to only 150 seniors because of limited space. So don't miss out on this chance to have your say on future legislation.

Plan to attend Community Forums in your neighborhood to be better prepared for the November event. The date, time and location of each forum is listed below. Here is your chance to find out about key issues and to hear from your legislators who will be assisting at the forums.

The forums don't require registration and are free and open to the public (even those who are not going to the November event). Need more Information? Call Laura Manis, 597-8838 or Carolyn Golujuch, 672-9050. Attend a Community Forum near you. Discuss issues with your state legislators and find out more about the legislative process.
