Hawaii's Fair Housing Act From the President's Desk (Marguerite Simson) League News LWV of Hawaii Was Present Local League Briefs Report on the Con-Con (Alice Scott) Recommended Reading for Campaign Practices Officers - League of Women Voters of Hawaii - Board Members

Local League Briefs Mrs. Guy C. Hewitt, Jr., Study Committee chairman, represented the Honolulu League at CON-CON. Before the committee on Local Government she read a statement in support of the Honolulu League's position that "our State Constitution should be revised to prohibit amendment of County Charters by the State Legislature." According to Hawaii Island Voter Hawaii County League expects to "Plunge into Planning" this year and "take a crack at the whole planning concept." Through this local study item the group hopes to "generate specific planning ideas" for the county and help shape the future. Both Leagues have been busily registering voters and planning their work in coming elections.
