Chair Chang, Vice Chair Nakashima, and members, The League of Women Voters of Hawaii strongly supports HB 1057 to allow family members and friends to contribute to the State established HI529 college savings accounts that currently only account owners can contribute to. In these difficult economic times, this expanded allowance is more needed than ever. This is a sound, pro-children, pro-family and pro-community amendment that supports investments in our children's future. We strongly urge you to pass this laudable HB 1057.
