The League of Women Voters Hawaii stands in support of any cost effective and reasonable incentive that would encourage the practice of medicine in the State of Hawaii, which we know is experiencing an ongoing shortage of physicians to provide preventive and primary care medicine. The access to affordable and acessible health care for the citizens of Hawaii is a position which we continue to endorse. Therefor we would encourage any reasonable legislation that would support the development of the medical work force in our state by addressing the critical area of loan repayment, diversity program development and primary care workforce expansion for medical students. Thank you for allowing me to testify.
