Priority for the Honolulu League Why They Joined The League of Women Voters: "I wanted to understand what goes on at City Hall." "It seemed a way of taking some responsibility as a citizen." "I was embarrassed at knowing very little about government. The League offered a practical approach." These are a few reasons given for joining the League, What was your reason? And has the League met your expectations? ******************** The National Board is much concerned about people who become members only to drop out within a year. Last year Honolulu lost five such members. We do not know what they hoped from the League, but we do know that they did not attend meetings or participate in other ways. They did not give the League a chance. This all leads up to asking each of you to Give the League priority this year. It is easy. Join a Unit, put dates on your calendar as soon as you receive the Bulletin. Attend meetings.
