Registration Drives

Twelve Leaguers certified as deputy registrars will be responding to requests or League help through August and September.

On Saturday morning, August 9 and on Saturday afternoon, August 16, five teams will be registering voters at 711 stores at 41-849 Kalanianaole Hwy. (Waimanalo), 2404 N. School St., 707 Kapahulu Ave., 1613 Nuuanu Ave. and 85-997 Farrington Hwy (Waianae)

Mary Frances Sutphen, Yvonne Kearns, Mildred Walston, Jean Aoki, Arlene Ellis, Annie Kim, Marian Hatton, and Dorothy Turnbull assisted by other Leaguers will be doing their best to increase Oahu's list of registered voters.

September 8-12, during the Young Voters Registration Week sponsored by the ASUH (student body), League has agreed to register voters at two sites on the campus --Campus Center and the Sinclair Library from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The ASUH will he sponsoring debates by the gubernatorial candidates in the primary election during that week:

On two separate dates, thirteen Leaguers were certified as deputy registrars, but at least four of them are unavailable at the moment for various reasons, and we need additional registrars. It takes about 30 minutes to be certified so if you can help, please call Jean Aoki (949-7457) or the League office (531-7447) and we'll try to set up another date with the city.
