1985 State ConventionThe Planning Committee for the 1985 State Convention has arranged a potpourri of stimulating activities, which should make this year's assembly both educational and fun. Festivities begin Friday evening. May 17, with a potluck dinner at the home of Carolyn Ingersoll, 944 Waiholo St. As a "warm-up" for Saturday, May 18's sessions, conferees will participate in LWV's own Trivial Pursuit. Some attractive prizes are at stake. There still is time to register for the convention. Send your check for $25 to Anne lee, LWV office. All interested are welcome to attend. Registration on Saturday will begin at 8:30 a.m., Waianae Room, Waikiki Sheraton Hotel. The first business session is set for 9 a.m. Prom 1C:30 to 12 noon, Thom Reece, president of Pacific Marketing Group, will lead the workshop on "Fund Raising - By No Means a Trivial Pursuit". His book on that subject is expected off the press early in 1986. Luncheon speaker is former It. Governor Thomas Gill, who will speak on "Hawaii's Election Laws: The Rules of the Game". The second business session is scheduled for 2:15 to 4:15 p.m. Anne Lee, convention chair, asks that members disregard the May 1 deadline mentioned in Spring, 1985, Leo Hana. All interested in attending still may send in their checks to the league office.
